A lot of moving companies claim to cover every town in West Bengal and then subcontract the job to whoever answers the phone locally. We work the other way round: the state is divided into operating zones — Kolkata metro, the Hooghly and Howrah belts, the Durgapur–Asansol industrial corridor, Nadia, Bardhaman, Bankura–Purulia, Midnapore and the coastal belt, Birbhum, Malda–Dinajpur, North Bengal and the Himalayan hill districts — and each zone has crews and vehicles assigned to it.

In practice that means a survey within about 24 hours of your enquiry, a vehicle available in the same week, and a supervisor who knows the access constraints of your locality before arriving at your gate.

Hill, coastal and industrial districts need different planning

Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Kurseong and Mirik are served with smaller vehicles because the approach roads simply will not take a full container truck; loads are trans-shipped at Siliguri where required. The coastal belt around Digha, Contai and Haldia gets extra moisture protection on packing material during the monsoon. Industrial-belt moves in Durgapur, Asansol and Raniganj are usually machinery-led and start with a rigging survey rather than a carton count.
